Our Warranty Promise
Every HAMI Outdoor product is backed by our Lifetime Warranty because we believe in the quality, durability and craftsmanship of everything we make.
Every warranty claim is assessed individually once we receive the required information via email. Please allow 2 business days for us to review and respond to your claim.
If your product has a manufacturing or workmanship defect, HAMI Outdoor will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace it with the same or an equivalent product, or provide an appropriate credit where a repair or replacement is not reasonably possible.
This warranty covers defects relating to materials, stitching, seams, zippers, buckles, aluminium frames, poles, hardware, locking mechanisms and general construction across our entire HAMI Outdoor product range.
Lifetime Warranty refers to the expected serviceable lifespan of the product under normal recreational use and with proper care.
What Is Covered
Our Lifetime Warranty covers defects resulting from:
- Manufacturing defects.
- Faulty workmanship.
- Defective materials.
- Broken stitching or seams due to manufacturing faults.
- Faulty zippers, buckles or hardware.
- Defective frames, aluminium components or structural parts.
- Faulty locking mechanisms, hinges or moving components caused by manufacturing defects.
- Failures that occur under normal intended recreational use.
What Is Not Covered
Our warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, negligence, accidental damage, environmental factors or normal wear and tear.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Prolonged exposure to sunlight or UV causing fading, weakening or deterioration of materials.
- Normal wear and tear through regular use.
- Cosmetic wear that does not affect the product's safety or performance.
- Damage caused by improper use or using the product for purposes other than its intended use.
- Exceeding the recommended weight capacity.
- Burns caused by campfires, braais, cigarettes, hot cookware or other heat sources.
- Cuts, punctures or tears caused by rocks, branches, broken glass, knives, fishing hooks or other sharp objects.
- Tears or abrasions caused by clothing accessories such as jean studs, rivets, belt buckles, keys or sharp objects carried in pockets.
- Damage caused by dragging products across rough or abrasive surfaces.
- Mould, mildew or corrosion caused by improper storage, inadequate cleaning or storing products while wet.
- Saltwater, chemical or environmental corrosion resulting from inadequate rinsing or maintenance.
- Damage caused by pets, wildlife or insects.
- Damage caused by storms, flooding, fire or other natural events.
- Accidental damage during transport or storage.
- Damage caused by modifications, alterations or repairs performed by anyone other than HAMI Outdoor or an authorised repair centre.
- Damage resulting from commercial, rental or industrial use unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Mechanical Damage & Negligence
The warranty specifically excludes damage caused by negligence or forceful operation of any mechanical component, including but not limited to:
- Stones, sand, gravel, sticks or other foreign objects becoming lodged within moving or locking mechanisms.
- Forcefully opening, folding, collapsing or packing away a product while a mechanism is obstructed.
- Continuing to operate a product after resistance is felt.
- Damage caused by forcing locking teeth, hinges or gimbal mechanisms into position.
- Damage resulting from bent, twisted or misaligned frames caused by incorrect folding or storage.
- Failure to inspect moving parts before folding or packing away the product.
Courier & Assessment Policy
To ensure every claim is handled fairly, some products may need to be returned to HAMI Outdoor for inspection.
Initial Courier Costs
The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the product to HAMI Outdoor for warranty assessment unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Approved Warranty Claims
If, following inspection, HAMI Outdoor determines that the product has a genuine manufacturing or workmanship defect covered under this warranty:
- HAMI Outdoor will reimburse the reasonable inbound courier cost (or arrange collection at our discretion).
- HAMI Outdoor will cover the cost of returning the repaired or replacement product to the customer.
Declined Warranty Claims
If inspection determines the damage resulted from misuse, negligence, accidental damage, environmental damage, improper care, normal wear and tear or any other warranty exclusion, the customer will be responsible for:
- Courier costs to HAMI Outdoor.
- Courier costs for the return shipment.
- Any inspection, repair or replacement costs (where applicable and accepted by the customer before work commences).
Where possible, HAMI Outdoor will provide a quotation for repair or replacement before proceeding with any chargeable work.
Warranty Assessment
Every warranty claim is individually assessed by our technical team.
HAMI Outdoor reserves the right to determine, following inspection, whether the claim relates to a manufacturing or workmanship defect or whether the damage resulted from misuse, negligence, accidental damage, environmental factors or normal wear and tear.
The findings of HAMI Outdoor's technical assessment team shall be final.
How to Submit a Warranty Claim
Please email support@hami.co.za with the following information:
- Order Number
- Full Name
- Contact Number
- Delivery Address
- Photos clearly showing the damage
- A brief description explaining how the damage occurred
Depending on the nature of the claim, we may request that the product be returned for further inspection before a warranty decision is made.
